Driver fined GH¢264 for motor traffic offences

The magistrate court at Assin Fosu on Tuesday sentenced a  driver, James Bambi Yankah to a fine of GH¢264.00 for careless and inconsiderate driving and negligently causing harm.

Yankah pleaded guilty and will go to jail for four months if he fails to pay the fine.

Chief Inspector Kwaku Sarpong, prosecuting, told the court that sometime in November last year the convict who was driving a Rover saloon car from Obuasi towards Tema, knocked down one Kwame Mensah injuring him in the process.

He said during investigations it was detected that the vehicle had faulty breaks.
