Bank of Ghana gets new governor

Amissah-ArthurThe Bank of Ghana gets a new governor as the incumbent gets ready to wrap up his term.

According to a statement issued and signed by Koku Anyidoho, Head of Communications at the presidency, the President, John Evans Atta Mills in consultation with the Council of State has appointed Mr. Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur as the incoming governor of the country’s central bank to replace Dr. Paul Acquah whose two-term tenure ends in September.

Mr. Amissah-Arthur, an economist who was a deputy Secretary for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in the PNDC government assumes office on October 1, 2009 when Dr. Acquah’s tenure ends.
