Armed robbers on Monday attacked and inflicted cutlass wounds on a 35-year-old alcoholic beverage dealer and robbed him of his motorbike and one hundred Ghana Cedis.

The victim, Akwasi Owusu of Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District told the Ghana News Agency at the Nyinahin Government Hospital where he was receiving treatment that he was returning from Barniekrom on his motorbike to Nyinahin when he was attacked.

He said on reaching the outskirts of Nyinahin, he spotted armed robbers firing warning shots in his direction.

Mr Owusu said he ignored the gun shots and begun speeding away, adding that the armed robbers then threw a big club at his motor bike as a result of which he lost control and fell into a ditch with the motorbike.
