Ejisu-Juaben Assembly to build modern lorry terminal

The Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly is to construct a modern lorry terminal at Manhyia, about three kilometres from the municipal capital, Ejisu.

The project would take five months to complete.

Mr Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said it would be built under a public-private partnership agreement with ANATOR Construction Company.

It would be operated for some period by the company after completion before full take-over by the assembly.

Addressing an ordinary meeting of the assembly, the MCE said land for the project had already been secured and that those who would lose their farm lands to the project would be compensated.

Mr Yamoah Ponko expressed optimism that the project would help to significantly boost economic activities in the area and bring in more revenue.

He thanked chiefs in the area for the understanding, cooperation and support for the project.
