Huge blow for Ghana as country slips from FIFA rankings

Ghana suffers a huge blow on the latest FIFA rankings released today June 29, 2011.

Ghana slipped on the overall rankings by 18 places from the 15th to 33rd position.

The slip equals the worst move by the country which happened in July 2007, according to FIFA.

Ghana, which has enjoyed the top position in Africa, is now second behind Ivory Coast.

The country now has 735 points, losing 183 points from the last rankings in May 2011.

Spain, Netherlands, Germany, England and Brazil secured the first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions respectively on the rankings.
