Ghanaians asked to uphold the truth

The Anglican Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese, Right Reverend Francis Benjamin Quashie, has advised Ghanaians to uphold the truth to make the country a better place to live.

He explained that, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was a demonstration of God’s true love for humankind and the triumph of truth over falsehood.

Bishop Quashie, who was delivering the sermon at the Easter Service at the St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral at Koforidua on Sunday, said despite all attempts to cover the resurrection story, the truth came up.

He said the leaders of the country should be told the truth to enable them to take make appropriate decisions that would bring comfort to the people.

Bishop Quashie advised that when the popularity of a leader of government dwindling he must be told the truth and appealed to Christians to stand by the truth no matter the situation.

Delivering the sermon at a confirmation service at the Adweso Calvary Methodist Church near Koforidua, the Methodist Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese, Rt. Rev. Fredrich Nnuro, said women’s day should also be celebrated on Easter Sunday by the church.

He explained that Easter was for women because the first person to spread the news of the resurrection of Christ, which is an obligation to all Christians, was Mary Magdalene and other women close to the Apostles of Christ.
