Ghana’s youth urged to uphold the values of hard work

The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Mr Joseph K. Onyinah, has reminded the youth to uphold the values of hard work and integrity, since there was no shortcut to success.

“You should not be lured into immoral and criminal acts just to satisfy the quest for money”, he said.

He was speaking at the launch of an annual spiritual retreat of the Deeper Life Campus Fellowship (DLCF) dubbed “Optima 2010” at Brofoyedru near Kumasi.

The DCLF is an arm of the Deeper Life Bible Church, which caters for the spiritual, social and professional needs of students and staff of tertiary institutions, belonging to the church.

Mr Onyinah spoke of the need for self-discipline to help transform the society.

“As Christians, you should become good example to society by leading Christ-like life”.

“This entails humility, modesty, submissiveness and respect for law and order”.

Pastor John Borham, National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Ghana, said academic knowledge should be blended with acceptable moral conduct.

This he said was the way to success in life.

He expressed worry about the growing waywardness among the youth and said all should join in efforts at turning young people from evil.

He said the nation could simply not afford to allow its future leaders to ruin their lives through irresponsible, bad attitudes and behaviours.
