Lands Minister inaugurates committee to examine ADAMUS’ petition

Emmanuel Buah-Armah

Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, has inaugurated an Independent Petition Review Committee to examine the petition submitted by Adamus Resources Limited, a gold prospecting company in the Ellembelle District regarding the revocation of their mining leases for the sites at Nkroful, Akango, and Salman

The fact-finding committee, chaired by Mr. Jerry Samuel Yaw Kuma, has been tasked with independently establishing the full facts of the matter and to submit its findings and recommendations within three weeks.

It would be recalled that the government revoked the mining leases of ADAMUS Resources Limited following reports of infractions at the mining firm such as ceding part of their concessions to foreign nationals without ministerial approval for illegal mining activities.

In a related development, Mr Armah-Kofi Buah inaugurated an Interim Management Committee, chaired by Mrs Maurer Otsyina, a seasoned processing manager, to oversee and manage operations at the affected mines, pending the outcome of the review.

The Minister expressed confidence that both committees would discharge their mandates with utmost integrity and diligence to ensure operational stability, job security and to safeguard the national interest.
