Group inaugurated to pray for Ghana
A non-denominational, non-partisan prayer platform, “Pray Them in Pray Them On” (PTIPTO), has been inaugurated to continually intercede for Ghana throughout the year on quarterly basis.
Speaking at the inauguration in Accra under the theme: “Believing God’s Best For Ghana: All Hands on Deck,” Pastor Samuel Boateng, the President of the prayer platform said it was relevant to come together as a nation to pray for the nation always, but not only during elections.
Pastor Boateng, who is also the Senior Pastor of Glory Gate Chapel, said all hands needed to be on deck because it would take all Ghanaians to develop the nation, which had been facing some challenges.
Quoting from 1Timothy 2:1 and 2, he said, “I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For Kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
Pastor Boateng said for a person to pray for all people, he or she needed to be urged strongly because it was not an easy task doing that but “it is far better to fulfil the will of God than that of people”.
He noted that the group was not in any way, partisan but it just happened that the call from God to institute it came in the era of the New Patriotic Party saying, “we are not here for any political party’s interest but we are for God’s interest”.
The President said the gathering of all saints to pray for the nation would be a tri-monthly activity, making sure that prayers were said for the nation.
The inauguration was characterised by prayer sessions from men of God from various congregations, which included ‘prayer for Ghana to break new grounds of achievements, Supernatural restoration of broken marriages, and accessing divine secrets for exploits” among many others.
Inaugurating the PTIPTO, Evangelist Dr E.A. Abboah Offei, Leader of Grace Evangelistic Team of the Grace Presbyterian Church-Akropong Akuapem indicated that there was the need for such a force in times of fallen value standards in society.
Dr Onsy Kwame Nkrumah, the Chairman of the PTIPTO National Board said the platform served as the genesis of a great movement in the country to put things at their rightful place.
Quoting 2Chronicles 7:14, Dr Kwame Nkrumah noted that the Lord said: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
The PTIPTO also sought to raise awareness that it is spiritually unhealthy for Christians to abandon their leaders by ceasing to continually support them in focused prayer.
The PTIPTO believes that the Government of every nation needs God’s help and Christians are called to specially intercede for their countries.
