The US president-elect, Donald J. Trump says he will immediately deport three million illegal immigrant currently living in the US.

Mr. Trump said in a 60 Minutes interview that when he takes office in January, between two to three million illegal immigrants will be deported from the country.

According to Trump, illegal immigrants with “criminal records, gang members, and drug dealers,” will be deported.

Trump was quoted as saying that there are between two and three million of these undocumented immigrants and explains that the administration is going to get them out of the US.

There are 3,500 Ghanaians known to be living in the US illegally. These are reported to have abused the terms of their visas and are on deportation orders, the US Ambassador to Ghana, Robert P. Jackson had told ghanabusinessnews.com in an interview.

If Trump carries out the orders, these 3,500 Ghanaians will be deported next year.

Recently, some 180 Ghanaians and Liberians were deported from the US in handcuffs and brought to Ghana.

Trump rode to power on his position on immigration issues including his views on Muslims, gays and other minorities. He has however, made a turn around on gay marriages, saying gay marriages will stay.
