South African company IDC building hotels in Ghana, Uganda – Report

IDCA South African company, Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) says it is building hotels in Ghana and Uganda, according to a report by the Business Day.

The publication cites the CEO of IDC Geoffrey Qhena as saying the company was investing a total 1.5 billion rands, equivalent to $121 million in the two countries.

Qhena was reported to be speaking at the Africa CEO Forum in Geneva.

“The hotel in Ghana will be operated under Marriot and the one in Uganda under Hilton,” the publication quoted him saying.

He however indicated that “Some of the goods and services that were used in these hotels come from South Africa and these are things such as furniture fittings and equipment.”
