The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Thursday released provisional results of 149,979 out of 176,661 candidates who sat for the November/December West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

A statement to the Ghana News Agency signed by Mrs. Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Principal Public Affairs Officer of WAEC, said the outstanding results include the results of candidates alleged to be involved in examination irregularities.

“The outstanding results will be released as soon as the Council concludes its investigations,” the statement added.

I thank the staff of WAEC so much for the good work they are doing, especially the stress and insults they receive day in day out. I however pray the withheld results be released as soon as possible to enable my sister, Dora Domoguor go to school this year.

some newly approved schools in accra have registered students that are not from their school and that is creating a lot of problems in the area where the school exist. this school have even gone ahead to register students more than the number they have submitted to weac during school inspection. the teachers currently at the school do not have the needed requirement to teach in secondary school. I believe the authorities will work on this and weed out schools like this who are only interested in extorting money from ignorant students.
