Work set to resume on thermal plants at Domunli enclave

All is set for work to resume on the construction of two thermal plants at Domunli enclave in Jomoro District of the Western Region.

The projects were suspended a few months ago following protest by farmers over unpaid compensation of their affected crops after the clearing of about 10 acres of land at the site.

Mr Sylvester Daddieh, District Chief Executive for Jomoro announced this on recently at the second meeting of the sixth Assembly at Half Assini.

Mr. Daddieh said they had already been served with forms while their cheques were ready with the Ghana Commercial Bank at Half Assini.

He said the payment of the 400 farmers whose properties got destroyed would start from September 24, 2012 and asked assembly members from the enclave to carry the message across to them.

The completion of the project would enable natural gas to flow from the Jubilee Field to generate 500 megawatts of electricity.
