Court grants man GH¢100,000 bail for assaulting baby mama

A 40-year-old man sighted in a viral video allegedly assaulting a woman in Cape Coast has been arraigned before the Cape Coast Circuit Court 1 following his arrest on Friday, March 27, 2026.

The man, later identified as Samuel Bills Acquah is in the dock for “causing unlawful harm,” a charge to which he pleaded not guilty on Monday.

After taking his plea, the presiding judge, Mr Cephas Kwame Ayidzoa, granted him bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties to reappear on Friday, April 10, 2026.

The accused person was arrested on Friday by the police in Cape Coast for the brutal assault of a 30-year-old woman with whom he has a child. 

A viral video shows Acquah charging at the woman with rage and beating her violently despite attempts to stop him.

He dragged the woman to the floor and kicked her in the face, causing her to bleed profusely, falling unconscious.

The police rushed to the scene after receiving a report around 21:30 hours and arrested Acquah.
