This year’s festival under the theme “Nostalgia” would see legendary artistes, which includes Salif Keita, Richard Bona, and UB40 group, touch base with the fans in Ghana, as they relive the beautiful and memorable music era in the past.
At a very colourful launch at the Stanbic Heights in Accra on Wednesday, Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Bank, said, the festival offers the platform, that brings global legends and local icons together “as we connect to our past”.
Mr. Afadzinu said, this year’s Jazz festival would see an extension into the other genres of music and taken to greater heights.
“This year, we have more ways of increasing the scope so that more people can attend and enjoy the festival. We want as many people as possible to be part of the wonderful celebration of who we are especially as aligns with the celebration of our independence month.
“The people we bringing this year represents a collection of legends of different variety and we all have sweet memories of them.
“So as a people we have to celebrate and remember where we came from, and forecast how we can get the right energy to move forward,” Mr. Afadzinu.
He also urged Ghanaians to be prepared for the celebrations and part of this mega music event.
