Christian Council happy about coronation of new Ya Na

The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has described the coronation of Ya-Na Abubakari Mahama II as the best thing that happened to Ghana and expressed gratitude to God for the peace in Dagon.

“We commend the good work of the Eminent Chiefs. We commend successive governments of Ghana for their efforts to bringing about the peaceful resolution of the Dagbon crisis,” Reverend Dr Cyril Fayose, the General Secretary of the CCG, said on Friday.

He told the Ghana News Agency in Accra that; “When there is peace there would be development, growth and opportunities for all.”

He acknowledged the current government for being instrumental in bringing about peace.

“In fact we congratulate the people of Dagbon for lending themselves to these peaceful processes. We pray that the process that brought about the peaceful resolution will be replicated in other parts of the country where we are currently having crisis”.

He recounted that for the past 17 years all forms of development in Dagbon had been disrupted, “but now all of that is behind us.”

He expressed the hope that with the current state of affairs people would now feel comfortable to travel there for business and for pleasure.

Rev. Fayose assured the new Ya Na of the support of the entire Ghanaian community and urged him to rule with confidence and compassion by bringing everyone on board.

“He is now the spiritual and physical head and so the people should give him absolute support and loyalty so they can develop the Dagbon State together.’’
