It is our culture to cooperate – China

Professor Li Hengtian, Deputy Director, China International Publishing Group Training Center (CIPG), has said China’s quest to work with developing countries was because it was the country’s culture to cooperate and help others develop.

He said China over the years established well tested development models and was ready to cooperate with other nations and promote peace and development across the globe.

Prof. Hengtian said this at the closing ceremony of a month-long capacity training for selected media professionals from Ghana in China.

It was organized by the China International Publishing Group Training Center and sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM).

He said China was prepared for partnership with Africa and charged the media in Africa to build the bridge for lasting win-win cooperation.

“We hope we can develop together. China and Africa have a lot in common-our agricultural system, rural tourism and culture are similar, so it is just good we hold our hands and walk together,” Prof. Hengtian stated.

He said it was important for the media to reconsider its position as development partners and play its role of enhancing social stability and rapid socioeconomic development.

Mr Kofi Ohene Benning, Acting Director, Ministry of Information, who led the media from Ghana underscored the role of the media in promoting good governance and rapid socioeconomic development and commended China for the support.
