We want a new relationship with the media – Volta Region NDC

Mr Daniel Kodjo Agboka Dzegede, Volta Regional Treasurer, National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated the determination of the Party to “chart a new course” with the media to rebrand the NDC ahead of the 2020 general elections.

“We are ready for a new relationship with the media. We want the media to work with us. We want the cordial relationship back,” he stated in an interaction with the Regional Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association.

Mr Dzegede said in the Region, the Party was not happy with its current working relationship with the media and appealed to media practitioners to let go past bad experiences and “work with us.”

He said NDC would be “better” after its national elections and they were prepared to engage the media regularly to reposition the Party for the 2020 polls.

Mr Emmanuel Akoto, an Administrator at the Regional Party Office, said “we know it was the media that let us down in the 2016 general elections. We have learnt from our past experiences and appeal to the media not to punish us for our past wrongs.”

Mr Bright Kugbeadzor, Regional Deputy Communications Officer, said the NDC was determined to “touch base with the media and do the right thing, so please help us.”

Mr. A.B. Kafui Kanyi, Regional Chairman, GJA, said the media was ready to work with all political parties and asked that the Parties treated journalists as professionals.
