Ghana’s economy won’t be fastest growing in Africa in 2018 – IMF

At the beginning of the year, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other analysts projected that Ghana’s economy will be the fastest growing in Africa in 2018. They all projected the country’s economy will grow above 8 per cent, but that won’t be. The title of fastest growing economy in Africa in 2018 will go to Ethiopia – expected to grow at 8.5 per cent.

In its latest World Economic Outlook released today, the IMF puts Ghana’s economic growth for the year at 6.3 per cent.

On the global economy, the IMF says growth forecasts remain unchanged at 3. 9 per cent for 2018 and 2019.
