Kwahu West records zero fire outbreak last year

The Kwahu West Municipality recorded zero fire outbreak in the whole of last year, the Nkawkaw Station Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Acheampong, has announced.

The municipality had in the previous year – 2016, seen 14 fire cases.

Mr. Acheampong told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the achievement was the result of massive safety public education mounted by the fire service.

This was carried out in schools, churches, lorry terminals and the communities.

He advised the people to continue to take safety precautions and avoid doing anything likely to trigger fire.

Mr. Acheampong called for farmers to be particularly careful in their handling of naked fire on their farms.
