Curfew on Bimbilla township renewed

The Ministry of Interior has renewed the curfew hours on Bimbilla Township from 1000 hours to 0400 hours, effective Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

A statement signed by the sector Minister, Mr Ambrose Dery and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the renewal of the curfew was upon the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument.

It called on the chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and the people to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to ensure peace in the area.

The statement reminded the inhabitants of Bimbilla and its surrounding areas that the ban on carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons was still in force and that anyone found with arms and ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
