Accra rains pull down Ex-President Rawlings’s office wall

A portion of the wall of the office premises of former President Jerry John Rawlings was on Friday pulled down by torrential rains, which hit Accra in the early hours of the day.

When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the facility, reconstruction work was underway to restore it; whilst a number of police officers were at post to secure the facility.

Naval Captain Hillary Amenyo, the Director, Office of former President Rawlings, told the GNA that personnel had moved in quickly to re-construct the broken walls.

He explained that due to the heavy rains some portions of the walls sunk, leading to the collapse.

The GNA observed that the construction team had moved in blocks, sand, cement and other materials to quickly start the re-construction.
