Dormaa MCE demands accountability from management of Aduana Stars

Mr Drissah Quattara, the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), on Tuesday appealed to the Management of Dormaa-Ahenkro-based premiership side, Aduana Stars FC to render regular accounts of every match proceeds at the  Nana Agyemang Badu I Sports Stadium.

He underscored the need to improve transparency in the management of revenue accruing from the sale of match tickets as it was critical for the efficient and effective management of the Stadium.

Mr Ouattara made the appeal when he interacted with the press at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Brong-Ahafo Region, on certain pertinent issues affecting the Municipality’s socio-economic development.

Responding to concerns about the poor management of the Stadium, which periodically attracted a lot of media criticisms, the MCE said measures were being put in place for the procurement of an industrial mower for the maintenance of the pitch and the weedy surroundings of the stadium.

Mr Ouattara said considering the status of the club there was the need to protect its image to attract big sponsors and make the club financially and logistically well-resourced to always compete strongly with the elite football clubs in Ghana and beyond.

He said the Assembly would undertake the maintenance of the stands at the stadium, which had become death traps, pending the availability of funds.

Some of the media personnel advised the MCE and the Municipal Assembly to find innovative ways of generating revenue to augment Internally Generated Funds and also foster good working relationship with the media to support the Municipality’s development agenda.
