Curfew hours on Alavanyo and Nkonya reviewed

The Ministry of the Interior has renewed the curfew hours imposed on Alavanyo and Nkonya townships from 2000 hours to 0530 hours effective Sunday, September 24.

A statement signed by the sector Minister, Mr Ambrose Dery and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the renewal of the hours was upon the advice of the Volta Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument.

It urged the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, the youth and the people to use the established mechanisms for the resolution of all their conflicts and disputes.

The statement warned the people of the two towns and their environs that the ban on carrying arms, ammunitions or any offensive weapons was still in force and that any person found with arms or ammunitions would be arrested and prosecuted.
