The law will catch up Major Manama’s killers – President assures

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised that those who murdered the late Major Maxwell Mahama would at all cost be made to face the law for the crime.

He warned that such violent actions would not be entertained in the country, urging all and sundry to live by the dictates of the rule of law.

The President gave the admonition when he interacted with chiefs and people of Denkyira Obuasi, on his three day tour of the Western region.

He had before the interaction visited the site where the military officer was slain and observed a minute’s silence in honour of his memory.

President Akufo-Addo told the people of town that he had been saddened by that unfortunate incident, adding that, that incident should be the last time such gruesomeness is perpetrated anywhere in Ghana.

“Ghana is a peaceful country and we should not do things that would bring the name of the country into disrepute. This should be the last time that such an incident should happen in Ghana,” he added.

The incident notwithstanding, the President assured the townsfolk that government had them at heart and they would benefit from all policy interventions to better their lives.
