Kotoko would have better second round of season – Amos Frimpong

Amos Frimpong, captain for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has said his side would improve in the second round, after a disappointing first round in the Ghana Premier League(GPL).

The porcupines won by a lone goal over Tema Youth last Sunday,  after seven consecutive games in the GPL.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Frimpong said he is sure, Kumasi Asante Kotoko would have a better second round, having won their first away game from home.

“I am very optimistic that things would change for Kotoko in the second round, we had a good performance against Tema Youth, where we played away from home with high intensity.

“We are going to move on with that victory, as we play our next game at home. I am cock sure that the second round would be better for us.

“I had an injury, which affected the team but it’s part of the game. I was always in camp to support my colleagues. I know they gave their all, but it was just a difficult moment for the Club.

“I am very fit now, in football no one can promise consistency in fitness but I pray I would stay strong and be part of the squad always.” He stated.

The versatile player also expressed gratitude to the numerous fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko for their immense support for the team, even in the difficult moment.

“I want to thank the supporters for their unflinching support to the team always, even in difficult times. They were at Tema to support us in our last game and I would urge them to keep supporting the team, because the players can’t do it alone.

“We have a tough game against Olympics on Sunday, the fans should troop into the stadium to support the team, we lost in the first round and we can’t afford another slip.  We are training well to be ready for the game.

Amos Frimpong praised Coach Steve Pollack, saying “ He is a very experienced coach with a great communication skill, how he talk to us before, during and after the games motivates the team a lot and we are confident in him.
