Kwesi Nyantakyi appointed CAF first Veep

Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, the President of Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been appointed as the First  Vice President of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).

Mr. Nyantakyi  got the nod after he was approved by the Executive Committee of CAF on Monday, whereas DR Congo’s Constant Omari was named as the 2nd Vice President of the confederation.

Having served as the GFA, since 2005 and he becomes the first Ghanaian to be appointed as the second in command of the African football governing body.


The CAF Executive Committee and FIFA Council member contributed immensely to Ahmad Ahmad historic victory over Issah Hayatou in Addis Ababa, which might have perhaps influenced his appointment.


The Ghanaian will assist Mr Ahmad Ahmad led administration as they seek a revolution of African football for at least the next four years.
