UMB rolls out instant visa cards

UMB has launched instant visa cards to customers to transact their businesses within minutes of issuance.

Coming on the heels of an impressive financial performance in the 2016 financial year, the Bank is clearly not resting on its laurels and is focused on creating value for its customers.

Speaking at the launch, Mr John Awuah, the Chief Executive Officer of UMB, said that the Bank’s strategic priority was to invest in areas that would bring convenience and speed to its customers.

“In November last year, we introduced three additional VISA cards to cater for the unique needs of all segments of our customer base. I am very proud that we are enhancing our VISA card offering so that our customers can now receive their VISA cards within minutes at all UMB branches,” Mr Awuah said. 

He assured that all customers and other stakeholders of UMB that the Bank was committed to investing in the necessary infrastructure and technology that would ultimately benefit the customer.

“Let me state in no uncertain terms that our utmost priority is to exceed the expectations of our customers and to enhance their experiences at every UMB touch point,” Mr Awuah said. 

“The introduction of instant VISA cards is just one of several initiatives that we will implement in 2017 to enhance the speed with which we deliver our services,” he added. 

The Head of Card Operations of UMB, Mrs Irene Adjei-Bisa said that the UMB VISA cards come with the most advanced chip and pin technology with enhanced security cardholders. 

“As a customer centric bank, we have listened to our customers and we are very excited to be introducing this service. I encourage all of our customers and non-customers to walk into any UMB branch and request for an instant VISA card that suits their needs,” Mrs Adjei-Bisa said. 

UMB currently has a portfolio of four VISA cards – the UMB VISA Classic Card – which gives UMB customers 24/7 access to their funds on UMB ATMs, other visa branded ATMs and Point of sale terminals worldwide.

Another product is the UMB VISA Prepaid – which offers both customers and non-customers of the Bank the opportunity to pre-load cash unto the card for online shopping and other transactions.

Others are the UMB Business Card – which enables business owners to control how, when and where payments were authorised for employees’ cards; and the UMB VISA Platinum Card – which gives high end exclusive benefits to card holders.
