Pastor condemns use of software Bibles

Pastor Boniface Boadi, an associate Pastor of the Blessing Gate Chapel International in Sunyani, on Friday condemned the use of software bibles among contemporary Christians and church goers.

“The original Bible is the recommendable Bible for every believer as it stands for the cross, and contains the power and anointing of Jesus Christ,” he told his congregation during a sermon to mark the Good Friday in Sunyani.

He observed that because “many so called Christians” were into sin and worldliness, they were afraid to use the original bible which contained the Spirit and Power of God, and had therefore opted for the software copies which distracted attention during service.

Pastor Boadi noted that the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary brought redemption to humanity, and therefore called on Christians to reflect and examine their lives.

“Any church which does not believe in the death of Jesus Christ is not founded on good biblical doctrines,” he said and advised Christians to walk and abide by biblical principles and be guided by the spirit of altruism as well.

Pastor Fredrick Ansu, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Pastor of the Harvest Chapel International has urged the clergy to practice what they preached.

He said Christianity is a way of life, and it was expected of the clergy to be guided by biblical doctrines as their inner and outer lifestyles played key roles in fulfilling their calling and ministries.

Pastor Ansu said alms giving was part of Christianity and urged Christians to support the needy and vulnerable in society.

“We must endeavour to share with others especially the vulnerable so that they would also feel comfortable in society,” he said.

Pastor Ansu admonished Christians to avoid worldliness and strive to seek heavenly comfort so that they could escape condemnation here and hereafter.

At the Baptist Victorious Church at Odumase in the Sunyani West District, the Reverend James Addai, the Senior Pastor of the church expressed regret about moral decay, which had eaten into the fibre of Christianity.

He was unhappy about high corruption among church leaders and pastors, as well as sexual promiscuity among church members especially the youth.

Rev Addai warned Christians against sin, and entreated backsliders to use the Easter celebration to retrace their steps and reconcile with God.

He also added his voice to the call on Christians to give alms, care and share with the needy in society, especially those in the church.
