Kotoko sacks Croatian Coach Zdravko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko S/C has abrogated its two-year contract with Croatian Coach, Zdravko Logarusic, over poor performance.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting between the management and the coach soon after Kotoko drew 0-0 with Ebusua Dwarfs in a Premier League match at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Mr. Obed Acheampong, the Communications Director, confirmed this to the GNA Sports in Kumasi.

He announced the appointment of Assistant Coach, Godwin Ablordey as stand-in coach.

Kotoko under Coach Zdravko’s watch, won five league matches, drew in four others and lost two of their matches.

The club is now lying on the second position of the league table with 19 points.

The Croatian had come under intense pressure from supporters, having managed to pick only two points from their last four games – losing 0-1 to Hearts, 1-2 to Medeama, and drawing 0-0 with Inter Allies.

The supporters’ frustration with him became more visible last Thursday when some them besieged the team’s Adako-Jachie training grounds and prevented the playing body from training.

Mr. Acheampong said the management was working around the clock to appoint a substantive coach and appealed to the supporters to remain calm.
