Bilateral trade between Ghana and France nearly $1b in 2016

Francois Pujolas – French Ambassador to Ghana

Bilateral trade numbers between Ghana and France was nearly $1 billion, the French Ambassador to Ghana, Francois Pujolas has told ghanabusinessnews.com in an interview in Accra.

This figure, he said, is an improvement over previous years.

“The only problem is that the trade is over concentrated in sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals and oil refined products.

“It is not only about trade but also investment. French expertise is available in many sectors and beyond,” he said.

“There are close to 50 French companies in Ghana and we also have 100 companies as members of the Chamber of Commerce. Those French companies have directly or indirectly provided about 50,000 jobs in Ghana,” he added.

Full details of the interview will be published soon.
