NPP government would generate $1.6b for infrastructural development – Bawumia

BawumiaThe New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said it would generate $1.6 billion for infrastructural development when voted into power in the coming elections.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the running mate of the flag bearer of the Party, said one million dollars of the amount would be distributed annually to each of the constituencies in the country to ensure availability of funds for development.

Dr Bawumia, who was addressing a rally at Bunkpurugu as part of a four-day campaign tour of the region, said the Party’s promises were realistic and achievable.

Among the entourage in the tour is Nana Akufo Addo, the flag bearer of the NPP and other executives of the Party.

The team made several stops along many communities of the Bunkpurugu-Walewale road to address enthusiastic crowds who had gathered to welcome the touring team.

Dr Bawumia said the NPP would rely on existing funds through national budget to speed development in rural communities.

He said each community has its needs and challenges and would therefore give the people the opportunity to plan and make decisions for their development needs.

He said the Party would also place emphasis on rural development to ensure that every part of the country has its share of the national cake.

Nana Addo promised the people that the Party would revive the country’s economic conditions and scale-up rural development when given the nod.

He said the country’s economy has been worsen by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) through poor governance noting that the NPP would use the resources of the state for the interest of the people.

He said the NDC lacks vision for the development of the country and pleaded with the people to vote massively for the NPP in the December polls.

Nana Addo promised to re-construct the Bunkpurugu-Gambaga road to open the area for development, build a modern hospital for the people and provide the secondary schools in Bunkpurugu District with the needed infrastructure.
