Overcome complacency and work together for victory – MP

NPPThe Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben South, Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah, has called for hard work, loyalty and unity of purpose from supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party battled for political power.

They should overcome complacency and that everybody must find space to contribute to the party’s election campaign – reach out to all voters and help them to understand why they should trust the NPP with their votes.

He was speaking at the launch of the constituency women’s wing of the party in Koforidua.The MP asked that they all united behind the flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to wrest power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and lead the nation back to prosperity.

He told the gathering that an NPP-government would turn the troubled economy around – restore it to the path of real growth to create jobs and wealth for the people.

Dr. Assibey-Yeboah chastised the NDC for messing up the economy, citing widespread economic suffering and ballooning national debt.

He said all was, however, not lost and that they would move quickly to fix things, when given the mandate in the coming general election.

Mr. Oteng Adu, the Constituency Chairman, said their target was to substantially increase the party’s share of votes in the area.

New Juaben South has a voter population of 87,000, ranking it the highest in the Eastern Region.

He encouraged every voter to make sure that they checked that their names were on the electoral roll in the ongoing exhibition of the roll by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Ms. Margaret Darku, the Regional Women’s Organizer, urged the women to intensify their effort at winning over more voters and appealed to the people to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and the party’s parliamentary candidates.

Ms. Josephine Osafo, the Constituency Women’ Organizer, said they would move from house-to-house to woo voters.
