NHIS to intensify its awareness creation efforts in Upper East

NHISThe National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) shall embark upon a public education campaign in the Upper East Region, to help create awareness on all its programmes.

The Scheme would also conduct regular stakeholder engagements to enhance the knowledge of clients, service providers and the general public.

Mr Sebastian Alagpulinsa, the Upper East Regional Director of the Scheme, said this at the NHIS sponsored Brilliant Inter-Schools Quiz Competition organised in Bolgatanga for some selected second cycle institutions in the Region.

He said apart from helping many seek appropriate health care, the Scheme has also contributed in helping many to seek early diagnoses of diseases.

The quiz competition, which was broadcasted live by the GBC URA Radio, was to provide clients and all stakeholders with the requisite information on the NHIS and empower them to live up to their responsibilities.

The Bolgatanga Senior High School came first in the competition, followed by the Navrongo Senior High School and the third and forth positions went to Zamse Senior High Technical School and the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School respectively.

Bolgatanga Senior High School would represent the Northern Zone for the national competition scheduled to be held in the Brong Ahafo Region.
