MTN Ghana launches 4G LTE

MTNMTN Ghana has launched a 4G internet service in Ghana to provide its customers with fast internet experience.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) in December 2015 awarded the 4G frequency spectrum of 800 MHz Band to MTN for its mobile phone services.

The 4G Internet service is the latest and fastest data network technology, which is based on the Long Term Evolution (LTE) and has the capability to boost data and Internet connectivity. Speed and cost however varies at certain points of transmission.

Mr Ebenezer Asante, CEO of MTN Ghana, speaking at the launch said customers would experience better connectivity and reliable data service which would boost interactivity and business growth.

The launch is part of activities to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of its inception.

He said the launch was in line with the company’s efforts to provide services to support the increasing demand of data services and improve customers’ data usage experience.
He said the service offers a lot of speed that would promote and enhance productivity of its customers to improve on their socio-economic development.

Mr Noel Kojo Ganson, General Manager of consumer services said it was a bold step taken by MTN to invest in the technology and give its customers better access to faster internet as pertains to advanced parts of the world.

He said it is an opportunity for business owners to come on board the new 4G LTE for business growth and much productivity.

“We are committed to invest in network expansion and improvement to better the lives of our customers.”

He expressed confidence that the mobile 4G Internet service would change the landscape of the telecom industry.

He said MTN would continue to invest in new technology and innovation that would help customers work efficiently and faster, adding that business growth in the 21st century requires faster and reliable Internet connectivity.
