Made in Ghana awards to honour thirty products, services

made-iin-ghana-awardsSome nominated indigenous made-in-Ghana products and services have been shortlisted to receive the Pride of Ghana honours at the fourth edition of the Made in Ghana Product and Service Awards 2016.

The Awards, an initiative of Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana (EFG), is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and endorsed by Ghana Standards Authority, on the theme: “Industrialisation, the key Strategy to Accelerated Economic Development and Job Creation.”

A statement issued by Mr Sam Ato Gaisie, President and Founder of EFG in Accra, said the event would honour 30 most celebrated and outstanding indigenous products and service organisations for the production of unique products and delivery of efficient services.

The Made in Ghana Awards 2016 is a shortlist of celebrated Made in Ghana products and service organizations, which have exhibited excellence in manufacturing practices and standards.

Products and services nominated would be evaluated on their contribution to quality delivery achievements in creating economic and social values.

It is about seeking the pride of indigenous most celebrated high quality and competitive products and services to create awareness, provide a boost to the business profile and reputation, increase the products’ credibility in international markets and build product loyalty to save the local manufacturing industries from collapse.

The official product nominees shortlisted are: Kasapreko products, Olam- First Choice Gold  Flour and Royal King Cracker/Perk Biscuits, Reroy Electrical Cables and Conductors,  Kinapharma lumether Tablet and Suspension, Wienco Aduanehene and Copa Rice Brands, Rockcare Genecure 4-4-2 capsules, Medi-Moses Prostacure Herbal Tea, Anowah Afrique Garments, Taabea Herbal Mixture, Homepro-Kleesoft Washing Powder, Homefoods Pure Palm oil  and Phastor Kwick Floors.

Other shortlisted products are: GTP-Wax Print and Textiles, Distell Savanna Dry Cider and Hunters Gold Cider, lucky Herbal Bitters, MGL Coconut oil and Shea Butter Natural Hair Food and Cocoa Butter Black Soap, Fontissue, Chocho Herbal Fresh Toilet Soap  & Laundry Soap, Beatex Lord Black and Old Soldier Insecticide Anti-Mosquito Coil, Azar Paints, Ameen Sangari Soap  and  KANE-EM Rubber and Plastics.

Shortlisted in the services category are: GCB Bank Ltd, Ghana Community Network Services Ltd, Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems, Enterprise Group Ltd, EIB Network, Business & Financial Times (newspaper), Unicredit Ghana Ltd, Volta Serene Hotel, VIP Jeoun Transport, Busy Internet, Strategic Communications Africa ltd.

The product categories include: Best Industrialist of the Year, Product & Service of the Year, Lifetime Product, Emerging Product, Textile, Cider Beverage, Food & Beverages, Apparel & Garments and Building Materials.

Others to be awarded are: Pharmaceuticals / Herbal Products, Rubber and Plastics, Toiletries, Laundry and Detergent, Cosmetics Electrical, Food/Agro Processing, Tissue & Paper. Financial & Non-Financial, Electronic & Print Media, Hospitality & Tourism and Corporate Communication of the Year.

Products entered would be scored against five parameters that demonstrate overall Product Premium Quality, Product Content (local materials), Product labelling & Packaging, Product Competitiveness and product standard certification offering a point of difference from your competitors.
