Bunkpurugu curfew time renewed

The Ministry of Interior has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument, renewed the curfew hours on Bunkpurugu Township from 8:00pm to 6:00am.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr Prosper Bani, Minister of the Interior and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the extension time took effect from Tuesday, May 24.

It urged chiefs, opinion leaders and the youth in the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.

It noted that there is a total ban on all persons in Bunkpurugu Township and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and that any person found with these weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.
