Hearts goalkeeper gifts Kotoko goal

KotokoGoalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama, gifted Kumasi Asante Kotoko a vital victory over Accra Hearts of Oak, at the Accra Sports Stadium, in the tenth week league game, played on Monday.

Soulama, in an attempt to clear a pass from Richard Akrofi, directed the ball into the net, for the first goal of the game, which eventually became the match winner in the 43rd minute.

Prior to this, Kotoko had their defender Edwin Tuffour sent off in the 30th minutes, after he picked up his second yellow, when he fouled Isaac Mensah.

It was a blunder that began the woes of the goalie as he was eventually sent off in the 64th minute after a reckless tackle on Dauda Mohamed.

Hearts was forced to effect changes by introducing Samuel Akurugu for Samuel Yeboah, but it was obvious Hearts was going to lose the three points at stake, as the odds were not in their favour.

Hearts made several efforts at equalizing especially in the second half, but opportunities on the part of Cosmos Dauda in the 71st minute, whilst a deep run by Dauda Mohamed and subsequent delivery saw Akurugu saving Hearts from conceding another goal.

Hearts struggled to pick an equalizer in the later stages of the game, but failed as referee Awal Mohamed signalled the end of the match.
