Dagbon congratulates new Bank of Ghana Governor

Kampakuya-Na Andani Yakubu Abdulai, Regent of Dagbon, and Acting President of the Dagbon Traditional Council has congratulated Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku on his appointment as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

A statement issued by the Gbewaa Palace at Yendi and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale on Tuesday said “The news of your appointment as Governor of the BoG has been received with much joy, excitement and approval by the chiefs and people of the Dagbon Traditional Council”.

The statement said, “as a son of Dagbon, you have made us proud” adding “Your appointment is the result of your intellectual capabilities, hard work and commitment to duty.

“The desire to serve your country and your track record in working with the World Bank and African Development Bank, are other qualities which has earned you this position”.

It expressed confidence in Dr Issahaku saying he was capable of excelling in his new position despite the numerous challenges confronting the country’s economy.

The statement also admonished Dr Issahaku to remain diligent, honest and firm in the performance of his duties as the Governor of BoG.

It thanked President John Mahama for appointing Dr Issaahaku as Governor of BoG expressing the belief that Dr Issahaku would live up to the trust reposed in him by discharging his duties creditably.
