Blacks Stars start training ahead of AFCON qualifier

The Ghana Senior National football team, the Black Stars started their preparations ahead of the 2017 African Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifier against Mozambique on Monday evening in Accra with 13 players.

Skipper Asamaoh Gyan arrived in the country on Saturday, as well as teammate Mubarak Wakaso.

They were joined at training by the likes of Adam Larsen Kwarasey, Rabiu Mohammed, Edwin Gyimah, Frank Acheampong, Christian Atsu, Jonathan Mensah, Majeed Waris, Adam Kwarasey, John Boye, Mubarak Wakaso, Daniel Amartey and Baba Rahman.

They were joined by Richard Ofori and Samuel Tetteh – two locally based players.

Coach Avram Grant who invited 23 players including 2 home-based players (Samuel Tetteh of West Africa Football Academy and Wa All Stars goalie Richard Ofori), together with his deputy Maxwell Konadu are expected to lead the session.

Ghana will host first of the two-leg fixture against Mozambique in Accra on 24th March and will return for the return fixture in Maputo, Mozambique on 27th March.
