Liquid Sports to hold maiden sports seminar for students

AthletesGhana-based sports website Liquid Sports is set to hold the maiden edition of its Olympism seminar for mentoring students, “Making it happen” at the Accra Academy Senior High School on Thursday March 10, 2016.

The two-hour programme themed on the philosophy of Olympism and sponsored by Guinness Ghana will consist of presentations, video presentations, question and answer and photo shoot sessions.

According to a statement from Liquid Sports, “Making it happen” will feature three national sports icons who will share their career and life experiences with the students: 1992 Olympic Games bronze medalist Nii Odartey Lamptey, double silver medalist of the 2015 All Africa Games Patrick Yaw Obeng, and taekwondo player Terrance Tetteh Asare.

In addition to that, the Director of Sports at the University of Ghana Legon (UG), Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu is also expected to bring his experience to bear on the programme by educating the students about the UG’s sports policy and career paths for sportsmen/women.

The embassies of Brazil and Japan are also expected to make presentations on the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

“Making it happen” comes after the sports website Liquid Sports organized the first “Liquid Sports Ghana Athlete of the Year Award” in partnership with Ethiopian Airlines.
