Government renews curfew at Old Tafo

PoliceGovernment has renewed the curfew hours imposed on the Old Tafo Township with effect from Wednesday March 9, 2016 on the advice of the Ashanti Regional Security Council.

A statement issued and signed by Mr Prosper Bani, the Minister of the Interior, said the curfew period would be between 2000 hours and 0400 hours.

The statement expressed appreciation to the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Old Tafo Township and surrounding from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement added.
