Fiifi Kwetey wins Ketu South election
Ketu South Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, the incumbent Member of Parliament, as candidate for the 2016 general election in an incident free primary at Denu.
Mr Kwetey, who is the Minister of Food and Agriculture, polled 14,610 votes, representing 86.13 per cent, to beat Sylvanus Amedorme who garnered 1,375 votes and Famous Kuadugah, 637 votes.
Out of the 32,337 eligible voters, 16,962 cast their votes putting the percentage turnout at 53.08 per cent.
Valid votes cast were 16,622 with 240 votes rejected, representing 2.0 per cent.
Mr Kwetey in a message pledged to maintain an open door policy.
He said turnout was one of the highest in the NDC primaries, suggesting that attachment of people in the area and Volta Region to the party remains high.
The Ketu South primaries were delayed by a failed legal court process by Jim Yao Morti, a candidate who was disqualified at the vetting stage.

Hon. Fiifi Kwetey, congratulations! But my advice to you is that try and satisfy those chiefs who displayed lack of confidence in you before the 2016 general elections takes off, because the power of those leaders on the outcome of elections in Ghana cannot be underestimated.
