The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has inaugurated its national headquarters at Kebu near Adawso in the Akuapem North Municipality with a pledge by its leader to give more support to the development of education and electricity extension in the area.

Madam Akua Donkor, its Founder, said the party would mobilize resources to aid the construction of a senior high school (SHS) at Ankwani to end the situation where students from Kebu and surrounding communities walk long distances daily to attend school at Mangoase.

The party does not necessarily need to win political power before acting to bring progress and make things better for everybody, she added.

She said it would continue to make meaningful contribution to the national development effort.

Madam Donkor gave herself credit for assisting to get Kebu connected to the national electricity grid. The inauguration of the power project coincided with the official opening of the party’s office.

She said the decision to establish their headquarters at Kebu was based on its geographically strategic location, pointing out that, it was easier to reach the place from every part of the country.

The New Juaben South parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Ransford Boakye, welcomed the step taken by the GFP, to establish its national office in the Eastern Region.

He noted that for the nation’s multi-party system to grow it was important to support the minority parties to thrive.
