The Minister of Transport, Ms Dzifa Attivor resigns today December 23, 2016, over the raging issue of rebranding 116 buses with images of the current and former presidents, hours after the Attorney General submitted her report on the matter to the Chief of Staff.

The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Mrs Marietta Brew Appiah-Opong, submitted the report on Tuesday following a directive from Mr. Julius Debra to investigate the matter.

News broke last week that a company, Smarttys Productions was paid GH¢3.6 million for rebranding the Metro Mass Transport buses. The news enraged Ghanaians, compelling some citizens to sue the Minister and the Attorney General.

But when news of the Minister’s resignation broke this afternoon, some Ghanaians took to the social media platform, Facebook to hail the decision, as the act of ministers resigning when they are caught in scandals is not common in Ghana, but some are asking for her prosecution if she is culpable and the money should be retrieved.
