African countries urged to support Syrian refugees

AUMr Kwabena  Osei  Bonsu, the Executive Secretary of Kick Malaria Out of Africa-Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has called on African countries to offer the necessary assistance to the Syrian refugees.

He said Africa was endowed with rich natural resources and that Africans should come together and save the lives of the dying people.

Mr Osei Bonsu, who made the call in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday, charged the African Union (AU) to also support the Syrian refugees.

He said if every country could at least rehabilitate about 5,000 refugees, more souls would be saved.

He urged the Government of Ghana to lead the crusade as Ghana is ‘The Black Star of Africa’.

‘As we are about to celebrate the birthday of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, First President of the country, there is the need for Ghana and Africa to team up and embrace unity as Nkrumah stood for peace and unity,’ he said.

The NGO is championing the welfare of children, and the elimination of maternal death and malaria.
