Ghanaian universities to work with French Engineering Schools
The Vice Chancellors of Ghanaian Universities have signed a historic agreement with the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools (CDEFI) in France and the University President Conference (CPU).
The exchange programme agreement would allow Ghanaian students to study in universities in France and also allow French students to study in Ghana.
It also details the certificates, qualifications, titles to be awarded the students, as well as the access conditions to the higher education systems of the partner countries, and the study periods.
Mr Frederic CLAVIER, the French Ambassador to Ghana, said the agreement consolidated the new dynamics of the two countries’ relations in university cooperation since 2013.
Professor William Otoo Ellis, the Vice Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), said the good relationship between Ghana and France made it easier for students to study in both countries.
He thanked the French Embassy in Ghana for the cooperation they had with the Vice Chancellors of Ghana.
Mr Kwame Dattey, the Executive Secretary, National Accreditation Board, said education was a platform that brought people of all descents together.
The agreement was signed at the Third Ghana-France Higher Education Conference, which took place in Accra on June 8th-9th and on June 10th in Kumasi.
The goal of the conference was to enhance the cooperation between French and Ghanaian universities, focusing on Engineering Science.
It provided a platform for French and Ghanaian universities, institutions to showcase the excellence of their education and the range of training opportunities available for students, employers and employees.
