Maersk Drilling secures $545m Ghana gas contract from Eni
According to Maersk Drilling, Eni Ghana would use its new-build drillship Maersk Voyager on the $7 billion Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) project, offshore Ghana, the contract it adds, is for three and a half years with an option to be extended by one year.
First oil from OCTP is expected in 2017 and initial gas in 2018, with peak production planned to be 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in 2019.
The project, Maersk Drilling says, will provide domestic gas supply to Ghana’s thermal power plants for more than 15 years.
