Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Volta Regional Minister is insisting that the Mahama led government is leading the Volta Region and the rest of the country in the right direction.

She said views to the contrary were therefore based on untruths.

Ms Ntoso was speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony on Thursday for an Assembly Hall and office complex for the Akatsi-North District Assembly at Ave-Dakpa.

“Whether the devil likes it or not, the Mahama government is working and fulfilling promises,” she stated.

The Minister said, “people were only pretending to be unaware of the truth,” and that “why should people sit in Accra and say nothing is happening here, in the Volta Region.”

Ms Ntoso said the region’s list of development projects was endless and documentary evidence was in the offing to silence the “doubting Thomases.”

She said for example there was a water project in the Central-Tongu area with the capacity to serve five districts while the region would soon benefit from some World Bank road projects.

Ms Ntoso lauded the foresight and exceptional hard work by the Akatsi-North District after inspecting some projects, which included the 40-store shopping center, six detached staff bungalows and some school infrastructure.

Mr Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area asked the Assembly to work out quickly, the compensation people whose lands were acquired for projects.

Mr James Gunu, District (DCE) said the assembly had “gone far” in the extension of water to communities and provision of school infrastructure.

He said the Assembly project would be completed in eight months.
