Rotterdam port seizes 9,000kg of narcotic drugs in 2014 – Report
The NL Times reports that the Rotterdam Hit and Run Cargo Team (HARC) seized about 9,000 kilogrammes of narcotic drugs in the Netherlands in 2014.
The HARC is a special team of police, customs inspectors and public prosecution department officials.
According to the report, the bulk of the seized drugs were cocaine – 7,575kg.
The results of 2014 are comparable to those of 2011 and 2012, it cited the Public Prosecutor as saying.
In both years about 70 cases were recorded with respectively 6,000kg (2011) and 3,600kg (2012) of cocaine seized. In 2013 more than 10,000kg of hard drugs were found, of which about 9,800kg was cocaine. 113 cases were recorded, well above the previous years, it said.
